History and Growth
In the mid-1980s, Goldman Sachs recognized that German clients needed dedicated service. At the time, the firm served regional clients from outside the country, but following a strategic decision to commit substantial resources to the German and Austrian markets, Goldman Sachs opened its Frankfurt office in October 1990.
In the following decade, resources were being built up on the ground. Today, Goldman Sachs Frankfurt is a full service investment bank with resources committed in nearly all business lines the firm operates globally including:

- Investment Banking

- Private Wealth Management
