I work in the Financing group dedicated to the real estate sector in the Investment Banking division. Activities that I am involved in include helping public and private companies capitalize themselves to run and grow their businesses. My responsibilities involve covering over 100 companies and understanding each company’s needs so that Goldman Sachs can best help the company achieve its objectives. Our clients look to us for important judgements relating to the capital markets, whether it is debt, equity or a hybrid security.
The best part of my job is interacting with some of the most highly regarded executives in the industry. This interaction provides me with great insight into industry dynamics. Given the number of clients we have, no situation is exactly the same. There is always an opportunity to learn and grow.
A year and a half ago, I was asked to go to Japan, to work in the Financing group. My skills were needed, and as a result, the firm provided me with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I was able not only to learn about a completely new market but also to experience a culture I had never seen before.
