Even though deal sourcing and the closing of the initial investment generally take up a good portion of my time, I spent much of the past several months in 2007 focusing on asset management of two of our investments in San Francisco. As a group, we have played a very active role in these developments, and I have participated in all aspects of these activities.

The most challenging part of my job, honestly, is balance. That is a bit cliché, but it is very true. Luckily my work-life balance has improved dramatically, but it's definitely a juggling game at times to prioritize one project over another or to put work on some of our investments aside to focus on internal tasks that need to get done. So there are plenty days when I leave and feel like my “to do” list looks the same as it did when I arrived in the morning, but I manage.
