I work in the Principal Investment Area, where I evaluate, execute and monitor investments across a range of industries for the Goldman Sachs Capital Partners funds. As an associate in the group, I also take board positions and develop strategies for our portfolio companies. The vast majority of my time is spent making investments, which includes sourcing, evaluating, conducting due diligence, negotiating, structuring and executing deals. Once investments are made, we devote substantial energy to adding value to portfolio companies by guiding strategy and providing additional growth capital.

I work in a team. The teams I have participated in usually consist of a Managing Director, a Vice President, an Associate and an Analyst. I value this structure because it allows your role to change every few years as you are promoted, and I enjoy the challenge and growth opportunities that this provides.
