Having studied Mathematics, I had always considered a career in insurance, as an actuary, however at university I learned about the vast array of roles within investment banks. After my experience on the internship programme I realised that the atmosphere in an investment bank suited me. As for working at Goldman Sachs, to be part of a market-leading firm was certainly part of my aspirations.

It’s definitely a career you must have a lot of passion for. The hours can be long, the days intensive and the work tough, but there are definite rewards.

Goldman Sachs offers excellent opportunities in career development, both through training and internal mobility. I am proud to be involved with recruiting and training new individuals, and I have seen first-hand the benefits of sharing knowledge and providing new challenges to the best people. Like an unpredictable market, what the future holds is unknown, but I feel certain it will hold many opportunities to develop and progress.
